Dylan's is one of five award-winning waterside restaurants across North Wales — the Llandudno site occupies a stunning former hotel on East Parade with floor-to-ceiling bay views, fresh Welsh mussels, daily fish dishes and some of the finest seafood dining on the North Wales coast.
Dylan's Llandudno occupies the former Washington Hotel building at the end of East Parade — a Grade II listed building refurbished and reopened by the Dylan's group in 2017 as a 250-seat restaurant across two floors, with outside terraces and a standalone cocktail bar set beneath the building's distinctive dome. The views across Llandudno Bay towards the pier and the Great Orme are exceptional, and the dining room makes the most of them with floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor.
The kitchen celebrates local North Wales produce with genuine commitment. Welsh mussels from Conwy — cooked in white wine and cream — are the house signature and consistently praised by reviewers who have driven considerable distances specifically for them. The seafood chowder with salmon, smoked haddock, king prawns and clams is another recurring highlight, as is the herb and parmesan-crusted hake fillet, the seafood linguine and the roast Welsh lamb. The menu changes seasonally and also includes artisan pizza, burgers and a well-considered children's menu, making it one of the more genuinely family-friendly options in town.
The bar is well stocked — cocktails, Welsh craft beers, an extensive wine list — and the upstairs cocktail bar under the dome makes a strong case for arriving early for a pre-dinner drink. The service is friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is relaxed without ever feeling careless.
